Reasons to study in the UK at UCA

At UCA, students from across the world choose to study with us for more than just a degree.

We asked one of our students from Pakistan to share his experience.

What do our students from Pakistan say?

One of our students, Laiba, shared her experience studying at UCA:

She explains her reasons for coming to the UK:

“I saw a lot of artists and alumni coming out from the UK and they’re doing great and they’re exhibiting their work.”

Her reason for choosing UCA:

“When you are building a community or working in a community you need like-minded people and also a diversity where different people coming from different sides.”

She enjoyed the confidence she gained with her course:

“I gained a log of confidence in my practice”.

Reflecting on how moving to the UK has impacted her, she shared:

“You are meeting new people, you’re living in a new place and coming from different culture and you’re now trying to gel into different culture.”

Looking back at her personal growth, she explains:

“Three years ago, I was an introvert who couldn’t explain the work very well. I used to overthink a lot about my work and had no clue what I want to do in my life, but now I’m finding that purpose and I’m finding the ways to fulfil that purpose.”

When describing the support she received, she says:

“The support was really great, massive support from the peers. Teachers are really supportive.”

 That’s why she recommends UCA:

“I would recommend UCA to people who want to pursue arts and want to find a career in arts or design or any field they want to work in.”

For Pakistani students unsure about studying in the UK, her advice is:

“Have a complete list of what you want to do... Talk with people who have already studied from here. That will help you a lot.”
