What do our students from Malaysia say?

One of our students, Jia Lin, shared her experience studying at UCA:  

For her, the main thing about UCA is that:  

“It was primarily an art uni, art focused. A lot of other unis had other things mixed inside”.  

When talking about what she loves most about her course, she says:  

“What I like the most about the course here is the opportunity to collaborate with people from different courses.”  

“Everyone has like so many different creative ideas.”  

Reflecting on moving to the UK, she shares:  

“It really opens your eyes to see how people live in different places and you learn quite a lot from the people around you”.  

She explains how the experience has shaped her personally and professionally:  

“Coming here has given me the opportunity to grow, opportunity to explore what I want exactly.” 

“Now I’m sure, for sure, yes, I want to do this, for sure.”  

A word of advice for students in Malaysia who are unsure about taking the leap, her advice is simple:  

“If you have the means for it, go for it... Sometimes you just have to take the leap of faith.”  

One last practical piece of advice she shared from her experience:  

“You are going to miss the food at home. If you want the food back home, you have to learn to cook it yourself.”
